These boots are pretty good for marching, walking and hiking however is not meant for running.  The 3 Layers of comfort cause the boot to be less flexible for running, but does make it comfortable for just about everything else.  I am not a member/former member of the USMC but it does have the EGL symbol on the outer heel, which looks legit.  Also the USMC boots are olive like a much darker version of the tan Army boots.

Overall I would recommend these for marching, hiking and walking.
